IDA is composed of 3 units:

  1. 1. Main society
    Looks after the professional, political and educational interests of its 46,000 members.
  2. 2. Union of Danish Engineers
    About 38,000 members. Primarily looks after the interests of its members in connection with pay and employment conditions.
  3. 3. Management Sector
    Looks after the interests of privately employed company managers and engineers with their own companies (approx. 5000 members).
The 41 Technical Societies of IDA include the Danish Concrete Society; an environmental section; the Danish Society for Railway Engineering; the Danish Maritime Society; the Danish Society for Road Construction, Traffic Engineering and Town Planning.

Periodicals: Weekly paper "Ingeniøren" supplied free to all members, journal, handbooks, Code of Practice, standards
